Fix the map

Everything we measure comes from OpenStreetMap, the free map kept up to date by volunteers. If a bakery is missing, a shop has closed or the opening hours are wrong, correct it there. We rebuild every city on the 1st of each month, so your fix shows up here, and in every other app that uses the map.

The quickest way: leave a note

No account needed. Open the map, tap Add a note, put the pin on the spot and write what is wrong, for example "Bakery Van Damme opened here in 2026, open from 07:00". Volunteers who map that area check notes and make the change.

Fixing it yourself

  1. Make a free account at openstreetmap.org.
  2. Open the map where the place is and press Edit. The editor has a short tutorial the first time.
  3. To add a place, choose Point, put it on the building, then pick what it is: Bakery, Pharmacy, Dentist, Café and so on. Add its name and, if you know them, its opening hours.
  4. To correct a place, click it and change the details. If it has closed for good, mark it as closed or delete it.
  5. Press Save and describe your change in a few words, such as "Added bakery, seen on 29 October".

What we count

Everyday life: bakeries, grocers, butchers, markets, cafés, pharmacies, newsagents, hairdressers, dentists, doctors, vets, laundrettes, driving schools and schools. Opening hours tell us what is open at 08:00 on a Tuesday.

Visitor places: hotels, hostels, holiday rentals, souvenir shops and attractions.

Adding or correcting either kind makes a neighbourhood's verdict more accurate.

A few rules

  • Only add what you have seen yourself or know for certain.
  • Never copy from Google Maps or other maps. Their data cannot be reused, and OpenStreetMap removes it.
  • Don't add places to change a neighbourhood's verdict. We publish how the score is made, and the map is checked by other volunteers.

Rather tell us directly? Every city page has a "Been there?" box at the bottom. We read every report.
